CAD Designer / CAM Programmer
Minimum Job Requirements:
Must be thoroughly proficient at any 3D CAD and willing to learn toolpath software unique to our environment.
Job Overview:
Initiate the manufacturing process by using customer supplied technical drawings to create 3D CAD models, and then creating CAM/CNC programs for laser cutting and turret punching. Resolve any issues with customer design or documentation through appropriate contact with customer engineering. Verify accuracy of work traveler for release to shop. Help resolve production issues during manufacturing when they arise.
Expected Experience, knowledge and abilities:
Must be expert at working in 3D with any CAD software.
Must be able to read technical drawing layouts, bill of materials, and tolerance blocks.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
Skilled in PC usage and associated software.
Able to generate layout drawing from specifications.
Knowledge of standard drafting practices and procedures.
Ability to work with minimal supervision efficiently.
Excellent time management skills.
Must be a self-starter and be willing to work overtime.
Experience in precision sheet metal fabrication or related industry would be a plus, but not required.
