Job Description

Overview:

This role supports one of our clients, a well known consulting engineering firm. As a Controller, you will have the ability to oversee daily accounting operations, including the accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable departments.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Work closely with department heads to develop and monitor budgets.
- Provide insights and analysis on financial performance against budgets.
Cash Flow Management:
- Manage cash flow to optimize liquidity and support operational needs.
- Implement effective cash management strategies and forecasting.
Internal Controls:
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor finance team members.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Financial Strategy:
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute financial strategies.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
Audit and Tax Compliance:
- Coordinate external audits and work closely with auditors.
- Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and filings.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- CPA required
- CCIFP certification preferred.
5+ years of progressive experience in a controller or similar role.
Thorough understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
Experience with ERP systems and financial software
