Job Description:

• The end-client is seeking a strategic, detail-oriented Controller to oversee their finance operations in a highly systemized and automated environment.Their accounting team operates with efficient workflows, and most revenue is collected through automated credit card charges.
• The ideal candidate will bring a high-level perspective to financial oversight, ensure accuracy in reporting, and drive continuous optimization without needing to overhaul existing systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Financial Oversight: Supervise and ensure the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Cash Flow Monitoring: Oversee cash management and forecasting, with minimal hands-on involvement in collections due to automation.
• System & Process Stewardship: Ensure end-clients automated systems (billing, credit card charges, reconciliations, etc.) are functioning correctly and work with vendors or internal teams to troubleshoot as needed.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP standards, tax laws, and other financial regulations.
• Reporting & Insights: Provide strategic financial analysis to support decision-making by leadership, including variance analysis, trend tracking, and KPI reporting.
• Team Leadership: Guide a seasoned accounting team, helping to resolve exceptions and ensure consistent flow without micromanagement.
• Audit & Risk Management: Liaise with auditors and external advisors, and oversee risk management protocols.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in a Controller or senior accounting role
• Experience with automated accounting systems and cloud-based finance tools (e.g., QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Bill.com, Stripe)
• Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and audit preparation
• Strategic mindset with attention to detail and process integrity
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
