Job Title: Creative Services Photographer/Editor - WFXT TV

Position Overview

WFXT, Cox Media Group’s Boston Television Station, has an opening for a motivated Creative Services Photographer/Editor. The candidate will work closely with the Creative Services Department to execute projects from concepts to completion.

Visual storytelling, teamwork, problem solving, and creativity are prerequisites. Prior experience working with clients and producers is a must.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Shoot and edit client videos, commercials, promotional news campaigns, content for all platforms.
• Must be able to plan and execute designed, commercial productions while maintaining the flexibility for impromptu “run-and-gun” style video.
• Attend client meetings as needed and participate in brainstorming sessions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of television photography and editing software (AVID or Premiere Pro) is required
• Must have relevant computer, software and non-linear-editing and troubleshooting experience
• Must be a strong visual storyteller and an independent problem-solver
• 2-3 years working television newsroom
• Must understand news production techniques and the ability to develop an engaging presentation
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record necessary. A motor vehicle record check will be performed
• Lift and easily carry up to 50 pounds of television equipment and get into and out of news vehicles without assistance. 

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred candidates will be skilled in all aspects of digital cinematography with expert knowledge of lighting theory, color theory, image composition and digital media management.
• Preferred candidates will be comfortable operating DSLR cameras and must understand the various technical functions associated with such equipment (i.e. ISO, shutter, aperture, VFR, synchro scan, data capture, MOS sensors, crop factor, picture styles, LUTS, prime and zoom lenses, gimbal rigs, field monitors, wireless mics, etc.). 
• Bachelor or Associate Degree in photography, journalism or related field preferred. Practical experience in lieu of education will be considered.
