Job Title: Design Marketing Specialist

Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Marketing Officer

Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A

Job Summary: The Marketing Specialist supports the development and execution of marketing strategies that promote the First State brand, its products, services, and team members across all entities. This role focuses on enhancing brand awareness, maintaining marketing compliance, supporting business development efforts, and assisting with internal and external communications. The Marketing Specialist collaborates with the Marketing Officer and other departments to execute cohesive and effective marketing initiatives.

Essential Functions:

Job Specific:

  • Assist in building and promoting the First State brand—including banking, insurance, and financial divisions—through creative and strategic marketing efforts.
  • Develop and execute high-impact visual assets (print, digital, social media, signage, etc.) that align with First State's brand identity and marketing goals.
  • Ensure visual consistency and brand compliance across all marketing materials, following established branding guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain and update First State websites and digital platforms as directed by the Marketing Officer.
  • Implement responsive web design elements that upgrade site functionality and content quality improving user experience and supporting conversion goals.
  • Stay informed of marketing trends and campaigns from competing financial institutions to inform strategic planning.
  • Effectively communicate information about First State products, services, and team members through various marketing channels.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to create and refine marketing materials that support sales efforts in loans, deposits, and insurance.
  • Represent First State at customer meetings and events, promoting services and ensuring timely follow-up communication with attendees.
  • Support the development of strategic campaigns that enhance customer engagement and retention.
  • Support and participate in company-sponsored events and community outreach initiatives to enhance brand presence and local engagement.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned to support the goals and operations of the Marketing Department.

Bank Specific:

  • Exhibit professionalism in appearance and attitude, maintaining confidentiality and ethical behavior at all times.
  • Provide timely assistance and support to both co-workers and customers, ensuring exceptional service and accurate information.

  • Promote and cross-sell company services while participating in training opportunities as required.
  • Complete annual bank-wide training as required, ensuring all necessary knowledge and skills are up to date.
  • Remain vigilant and knowledgeable about crisis procedures, including emergency protocols such as robbery.
  • Comply with all bank policies, procedures, and regulations, and report any concerns to Human Resources or upper-level management immediately.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a marketing role is preferred.
  • Prior banking and insurance experience is not required but is a plus.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Experience with web design platforms and working knowledge of HTML/CSS and responsive design principles.
  • Valid motor vehicle driver's license required.

Physical Demands:

  • Engage in routine physical activities such as walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to read reports and use a computer effectively.
  • Lift and carry items up to 30 pounds daily, including file boxes and office supplies.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily indoors in an environmentally controlled setting.
  • Occasional travel by car to visit other company locations may be required.
  • Flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work to achieve established goals.
