Encorus Group is expanding and hiring for our new Rochester office! We are seeking a driven, experienced
Electrical Engineer to lead a wide range of electrical design projects in the AEC and industrial sectors.
In this role, you will:
- Work on projects involving power distribution, lighting systems, fire alarms, automation design, and NEC code compliance.
- Manage projects independently from concept through completion, requiring technical expertise and strong organizational skills.
- Focus on power infrastructure for industrial facilities, especially medium- and low-voltage systems.
- Collaborate with clients from diverse industries, including modern manufacturing sites and legacy industrial plants.
- Thrive in a supportive, fast-paced team environment, enjoying variety and client interaction.
Responsibilities: - Perform redlining of existing drawings, documentation, and project file coordination.
- Collaborate with in-house staff and external design professionals (architects/engineers) to coordinate design work.
- Independently manage projects of moderate size/complexity and support senior engineers with larger projects.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of deliverables within your area of responsibility.
- Assist project managers with correspondence, estimates, schedules, material lists, design concepts, drawings, calculations, and other project documentation in compliance with customer, corporate, and industry standards.
- Apply company and industry standards to oversee preparation of calculations, project drawings, and specifications.
- Mentor and guide entry-level employees, provide skill development and coaching.
- Coordinate with internal/external partners (cross-discipline teams, construction teams, vendors, fabricators, owners) to address electrical-related issues.
Requirements: Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field
- 4+ years of electrical engineering and design experience (consulting preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration or EIT with plans to obtain licensure
- Strong background in power infrastructure for industrial facilities, including medium- and low-voltage systems
- Experience with a broad range of project types and power distribution levels
- Proficiency with ETAP or SKM, Visual, or similar analytical software
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit drafting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to comply with company drug screening (including pre-employment test)
- A valid driver\'s license and ability to travel locally and occasionally out of state
