Under direction of the Program Manger II, the ESC will have responsibility for a wide range of programs/ projects related to emergency operations as assigned by the PM II. This includes leading or supporting programs such as: The Operational Readiness Program: MissionEdge workforce management program, and the Emergency Management Compact (EMAC). In addition to the regular program responsibilities, the ESC supports activities related to incident response before, during, and after emergency events. This includes assisting with operations of the State Operations Center (SOC), maintaining operational and situational readiness, and intelligence gathering/dissemination.

The position also serves as a key point of interaction with all levels of government, including special districts and non-governmental organizations, in support of operations planning and response activities. The ESC will also perform complex tasks, such as analyzing state or federal program requirements, and will assist in reviewing and developing standard operating procedures and operational protocols.
