Job Description

PMA Transportation is looking for EMTs to join our growing Team. We are looking for EMT drivers to safely and efficiently transport clients to hospitals and various healthcare facilities. The EMT driver ensures that the vehicle is always in optimal condition, follow traffic rules and regulations and provide necessary support to the healthcare professionals on board.

• Safely and efficiently drive an ambulance to transport patients to and from healthcare facilities, emergency scenes, and other destinations as required.
• Maintain a clean and well-organized ambulance, ensuring that all medical equipment and supplies are properly secured and readily accessible.
• Follow established protocols and respond promptly to emergency calls, ensuring the safe and timely arrival at the scene or destination.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, such as emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics, to ensure effective communication and coordination during patient transportation.
• Adhere to traffic laws, regulations, and safe driving practices while operating the ambulance, including defensive driving techniques in emergency situations.
• Maintain accurate records of patient transport activities, including pick-up and drop-off times, destination, and any relevant patient information.
• Perform routine checks on the ambulance, including monitoring fuel and fluid levels, inspecting tires, and ensuring that all emergency equipment is in working order.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing reassurance and support during transportation.
• Attend regular training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills in areas such as defensive driving, first aid, and emergency response techniques.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification.
• Completion of an accredited ambulance driver training program is preferred.
• Ability to safely lift up to 200 pounds.
• Prior experience in emergency medical services or a related field is preferred.

Shifts: Available to work overnight, weekends and holidays.
