Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced IT Manager to lead technology teams and drive IT strategy forward. This pivotal role will be responsible for fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment within the Systems and Network departments, managing relationships with key external technology vendors, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of critical IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be a strong people leader with a proven track record of building successful teams, managing complex projects, and delivering reliable IT services.
Responsibilities:
+ People Leadership and Team Development:
+ Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the Systems and Network teams, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
+ Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and identify opportunities for professional development and growth within the teams.
+ Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a culture of continuous improvement across the IT departments.
+ Effectively manage team workload, allocate resources appropriately, and ensure timely completion of tasks and projects.
+ Recruit, onboard, and retain talented IT professionals.
+ Vendor Management:
+ Develop and maintain strong relationships with external IT vendors, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met and value is maximized.
+ Manage vendor contracts, negotiate terms, and oversee vendor performance to ensure alignment with organizational needs and budget.
+ Evaluate new and existing vendor solutions to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
+ Systems and Network Management:
+ Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company's IT systems, including servers, storage, and applications, ensuring high availability and performance.
+ Manage the network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks, ensuring security, stability, and optimal performance.
+ Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure security, compliance, and operational efficiency.
+ Lead and participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, implementations, and infrastructure enhancements.
+ Manage and maintain backup and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity.
+ Technical Oversight:
+ Maintain a general understanding of the company's technology landscape, including hardware, software, and applications.
+ Provide technical guidance and support to the IT teams as needed.
+ Contribute to the development and execution of the company's IT strategy and roadmap.
+ Troubleshoot complex technical issues and coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve them effectively.
+ While not a primary focus, familiarity with platforms such as AS400 and its integration within a broader IT environment is beneficial.
Requirements
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
+ Proven experience (typically 1 5+ years) in IT management with increasing levels of responsibility.
+ Demonstrated experience in leading and developing IT teams.
+ Strong vendor management skills, including contract negotiation and performance management.
+ Solid understanding of systems and network infrastructure and operations.
+ Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
+ Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
+ Experience with IT security best practices and compliance standards.
+ A proactive and results-oriented approach.
