Job Description

Title: Maintenance Utility Operator
Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Summary: Reporting to the Maintenance Manager with a dotted line to the Plant and Operation Managers. Perform general plant cleanup and grounds maintenance, loading and unloading of all raw material and supply trucks, Winter snow removal and walk path salting.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily walk arounds an inspect/monitor areas to be cleaned
• Clean equipment, such as Pump/Motor bases, Material hoses, Production equipment, Production work areas, Tank Farm containment areas, Plant driveways and general plant grounds
• Labeling received items and moving to the correct storage locations, organizing/cleaning the storage areas
• Equipment/Piping labeling/identifying, make and apply labels/signs to identify equipment and piping 
• Operate Rolling equipment used to perform the cleanup duties, such as, Vac Truck, Skid Steer and Forklift 
• Clean up and log any/all oil spills to meet all DEPA standards
• Daily monitoring of containment area, test and release water from areas as needed
• Setup/Disassemble equipment used to clean areas
• Building cleaning, such as floors and containment trenches
• Dispose of waste oil into properly locations/containers
• Clean and store waste oil totes and hoses
• Mow grass, weed eat, clean brush from the fence lines and spray for weed control
• Change catch basin filter socks and report change outs to management
• Painting of any/all assigned general plant items, includes parking lot lines and safety areas that need to have visual identification 
• Load/Unload raw material and maintenance item and move materials to the proper storage location
• Stage materials for future jobs to be performed by Production or Maintenance
• Work with Production Engineer to perform CIP (clean in place) of production equipment
• Assist Production as needed to clean Filter Presses and Filter Area
• Snow removal and walk/drive path salting, includes shoveling walk paths and use rolling equipment to remove snow and apply salt
• Pickup locally purchased Plant/Maintenance items as needed
• Other duties as assigned by Manager
