Learn About a Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant:

• Performs clerical and clinical duties under the direction of a physician and or registered nurse.
• Clerical duties may include answering phones, ordering supplies, and maintaining medical records.
• Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs, collecting laboratory specimens to include point-of-care testing,
• Obtaining patient medical histories, preparing patients for examination, and reviewing discharge instructions with patients and or their drivers.

Job Requirements:

• Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA or equivalent); Current or must be attained within three (3) months of hire
• Current BLS certification

Preferred Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous similar clinic experience
• Previous experience with EMR systems
• One year experience in physician’s practice
