**Job Description:**
+ This role is fully remote, but preference will be given to candidates located on or near the West Coast for optimal collaboration across time zones.
+ Candidates must bring a high level of detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work directly with physicians and clinical teams.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Accurately code outpatient ambulatory surgery procedures using ICD-10-CM and CPT per official guidelines
+ Abstract data from electronic medical records (EMR) to support accurate coding and reimbursement
+ Apply knowledge of APC reimbursement methodology to ensure proper assignment (strongly preferred)
+ Collaborate with physicians to clarify documentation using appropriate query processes
+ Maintain compliance with UHDDS reporting, regulatory coding requirements, and client standard
+ Enter codes and abstracted data into the hospital system for tracking and billing
+ Participate in quality improvement and audit preparation as needed
**Experience:**
+ Minimum 1 year of outpatient CPT coding experience, with a strong preference for ambulatory surgery center (ASC) or hospital-based outpatient surgery
+ Strong understanding of APC reimbursement preferred
+ Demonstrated proficiency in using coding software and hospital EMRs
**Skills:**
+ Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
+ Must be able to collaborate with physicians and coders to ensure coding accuracy and timely documentation
+ Seeking a skilled HIM Coder II with strong experience in outpatient ambulatory surgery coding using ICD-10-CM and CPT.
**Education:**
+ High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
