Reservoir Engineer

The Opportunity
We're seeking a driven Reservoir Engineer to join our team in Morgantown, WV. In this role, you'll work closely with Senior Engineers, directly contributing to our exploration and production success in the Appalachian Basin. You'll gain hands-on experience analyzing complex reservoir data, building crucial models, monitoring well performance, and helping to identify ways to enhance output. What You Will Be Doing:
  • Work with Senior Engineers to analyze reservoir data such as production trends , pressure build up plots, decline curve analysis profiles.
  • Help build models that represent the structure and properties of oil and gas reservoirs using tools like ComboCurve, ARIES, Access, and SQL.
  • Monitor well performance and contribute to identifying ways to improve output.
  • Support recommendations for well interventions or workovers to enhance production.
  • Participate in planning field development, including well locations and infrastructure needs.
  • Help evaluate the economic impact of different development options.
  • Track reservoir performance over time and suggest updates to production strategies.
  • Prepare technical summaries and presentations to share your findings with the team.
Your Background:
  • Associate's degree in Geosciences, Petroleum Engineering Technology, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in reservoir engineering, preferably within the oil and gas industry
  • Familiarity with reservoir engineering principles, including permeability, porosity, and saturation
  • Familiarity with unconventional reservoirs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration across teams
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Working Conditions
  • Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary.
  • Interaction with team members and external contacts is a regular part of the job.
Physical Requirements
  • Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or conducting meetings.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally to field locations, which may involve walking on uneven terrain, climbing stairs or equipment, and working in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions
  • Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
