Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

Location: Syracuse, NY

Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: 12-Hour Shifts | 3 Days per Week

Weekly Hours: 36

A respected medical facility in Syracuse, NY is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join their respiratory care team for a 13-week travel assignment. This role offers 12-hour shifts three days a week, providing an opportunity to work in a dynamic, patient-focused hospital environment.

• Deliver comprehensive respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients as appropriate

• Administer oxygen, aerosolized medications, and other therapeutic respiratory treatments

• Monitor and evaluate the patient’s response to therapy, adjusting treatment plans as needed

• Perform diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gas sampling and pulmonary function testing

• Manage ventilators and artificial airway devices in both emergency and ICU settings

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards

• Adhere to infection control, safety procedures, and HIPAA regulations

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) accepted

• Current BLS certification (AHA preferred); ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required depending on patient population

• Valid New York State Respiratory Therapist license or eligibility to obtain

• Minimum of 1–2 years of recent clinical experience in an acute care setting

• Strong critical thinking and communication skills

• Ability to work effectively in high-acuity areas such as ICU or ER (preferred but not required)

• 12-hour shifts (specific shift times TBD)

• 3 days per week

• 36 hours per week

• Potential for rotating weekends or holidays as needed
