Job Title: SAP FICO Tax Business Analyst North America

Location: Remote (occasional travel within North America if needed)

Hours: 40 hours per week

Contract Duration: Multi-year project (long-term)

Compensation:

• Canadian candidates: CAD $100-120/hour

• U.S. candidates: USD $80-90/hour

Engagement Type:
This role is offered only on a Corp-to-Corp (C2C) or 1099 independent contractor basis. W2 employment is not available for this engagement.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SAP FICO Tax Business Analyst to join a multi-year strategic initiative focused on modernizing the North American tax solution (USA & Canada).

This role will play a critical part in transitioning from Thomson Reuters One Source to Vertex , ensuring full compliance with both U.S. and Canadian tax regulations. You'll work across SAP FICO as well as SAP SD, MM, and PP modules to deliver seamless integration and business-aligned tax solutions.

You'll collaborate closely with business and IT stakeholders in a dynamic, international environment to design, implement, and optimize compliant, high-performing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Solution Design & Implementation : Analyze requirements, prepare functional specifications, and configure/customize SAP FICO for tax calculation and reporting.
• Tax Process & Compliance : Ensure indirect tax processes align with U.S. and Canadian regulations. Support the transition from One Source to Vertex.
• Integration & Testing : Lead SAPVertex integration, design and execute test scenarios (PO, SO, AP, AR, invoices), and oversee UAT.
• Documentation & Training : Prepare comprehensive documentation (URS, process flows) and deliver user training on SAP tax processes (AP, AR, Reporting, MM & SD invoicing).

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of SAP Finance configuration and implementation experience .
• Strong expertise in tax solution integration with hands-on experience in Vertex .

• Deep knowledge of U.S. and Canadian tax regulations .

• Experience integrating with SAP SD, MM, and PP modules.

• Proven track record with integration testing and UAT validation .
• Strong understanding of indirect tax processes, tax determination, and reporting .
• Excellent stakeholder communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple workstreams independently.

Nice to Have

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA .

• Background in large, multi-country tax projects .

• Advanced expertise in complex integration testing and validation .
