Job Description

**Responsibilities** The Surgery Procedure Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the schedules of physicians, operating rooms, anesthesiologists, equipment, lab work and any other required items/staff in accordance with a physician's recommendation for patient care. Acts as a liaison between the patient, provider/referring physician, primary care physician, and other parties involved in the surgery/procedure to include distribution of pre and post-operative information to the patient. Gather and record financial and insurance information and ensure authorizations are obtained prior to the procedure/surgery. **Qualifications** **MINIMUM** High School Diploma/GED One year of surgery scheduling experience Familiarity with operating room scheduling processes critical Ability to effectively interact with insurance carriers Basic Computer skills **PREFERRED** Three years related experience Bi-lingual Previous office experience College level business coursework Medical Assistant Certificate **Overview** Hello humankindness Located conveniently in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona,St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center is a 571-bed, not-for-profit hospital that provides a wide range of health, social and support services.
