Salary Range: $44.5600 - $68.8600 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.
Under the direction of the technical supervisor and medical director, the Ultrasound Technologist I demonstrates competency and proficiency in all skills required to perform level I routine ultrasound procedures as defined by department protocols. All technologists utilize independent judgment and required knowledge to obtain high quality diagnostic ultrasound images. The technologist competently evaluates the technical quality of the images obtained and prior to submitting to interpreting radiologist. They educate the patient/family about the procedure and report all changes in patient’s status, including initiating emergency response if required. They accurately document patient information in the appropriate hospital systems. Hospital based positions may require call responsibility and rotation to hospital adjacent imaging center locations. Performs other duties as assigned.
Cardiology department only: On-call employees are required to respond to call within 15 minutes, troubleshoot problem, provide services off-site as needed and be available to provide services on-site as needed within 1 ½ hours of being called to respond.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Hospital/OP Imaging locations only: Experience may be considered in lieu of education if licensure and certification requirements are met. Graduate of a Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs approved program (exception for programs completed prior to 1994).
Cardiology department only: Experience with adult, neonate, and pediatric cardiac ultrasound as well as stress echocardiograms, TEEs, and Intra-Operative TEE preferred.
Non-Invasive Vascular Lab: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography ARDMS - RVT registered, or registry eligible, to be completed within the first year of employment.
Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging : RDCSAE: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer – Adult Echo (RCSAE) registered, Or RCS: Registered Cardiac Sonographer -Adult Echo, or registry eligible.
