Job Description
Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the
University Assistant for the Office of Educational Experiences and Teacher Certification position. Eastern is Connecticut’s Public Liberal Arts University and is located in Willimantic, Connecticut which is 1.5 hours from Boston and 2.5 hours from New York City. Eastern is one of four universities in the Connecticut State College and University System (CSCU). The position also offers substantial health and retirement benefits.
This position supports the placement and certification office for the Education programs. The
role is vital to ensure quality and timeliness in securing clinical assignments, reviewing
certification materials and supporting technology platforms for Education.
• Prepare and maintain all documents for the certification process and any (DSAP)
Durational Shortage Area Permit applications.
• Audits candidate materials for recommendations to CSDE (Connecticut State Department
of Education) certification and collaborates with the certification officer.
• Support the Office of Educational and Clinical Experiences using all technological
platforms, including, but not limited to Excel, Eweb, Forms, Tk20/Student Learning and
Licensure, PowerPoint, Cascade, SharePoint, and Banner.
• Maintain and manage social media sites for OECE and the Education Department.
• Gathering, organizing, and sharing data with the Dean’s Office, faculty, and other campus offices.
• Supports the placement process by collaborating with the OECE team to disseminate
materials and communicate with school districts.
• Collaborating with the departmental secretary to disseminate letters, stipend forms, and
required materials to teacher candidates, cooperating teachers, and administrators.
REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience with technology.
