General Surgery | Bedford Memorial Hospital
Introduction to the Role and Practice
​​​​​​Our APPs can see both new and established patient visits while working closely with physicians. Also, our physicians will be paired with a nurse to work alongside them in the office. This close collaboration assists in creating patient and physician ease and efficiency as well as providing continuity of care and attention to detail. Here at Bedford Memorial Hospital, we have a very low nursing turnover rate and boast a culture of warmth and a family friendly community.
You Can Expect

• Communicate with core group of APPs and surgeons as well as other specialties

• Utilize Cerner EMR

• Variable day shifts including rotating weekend and holiday coverage

• Evaluate patients in clinic for routine post-op care and acute problems

• Round and perform consultations, progress evaluations, and discharges in the hospital

• Order diagnostic evaluations and medical therapies

• Coordinate care with patients, their families, and multidisciplinary teams
